# How do I change the contact details for my domain name?

Registries (DNS Belgium, AFNIC, EURid, Verisign, etc.) and ICANN require you to keep the contact details for each domain name up to date. If you fail to do so, your domain may be suspended and ultimately made available for registration again.

Change of contact details (email, telephone, address)

You can update contact details at any time
email address, telephone number and postal address 
of all your contacts (Registrant, Administrative, Technical and Billing) from the “Domains” > “My domain names” > “Manage domain” > “Contact Info” menu. This operation is free.

Transfer of ownership (first and last name or organization name)

For Administrative, Technical and Billing contacts, you can change the
first and last names and organization name
yourself from the "Domains" > "My domain names" > "Manage domain" > "Contact Info" menu.

On the other hand, for the Registrant contact (owner) you cannot do it yourself. In this case, you must open a support ticket mentioning the new contact details as well as the domain name concerned.

Be careful, it's not always free. Some registries (like DNS Belgium for .be) charge for this operation, in this case, you will first have to pay an invoice before the operation is carried out. If the operation is free (like .com or .org) you will not have to pay absolutely anything and the operation will be carried out within 48 working hours. Some registries will ask you for email validation of the transfer of ownership.
